Much Overdue Update
Sorry for the delay in an update. Got lazy once the boy was home.
Today was Akshay's Due Date and he went to the doctors for his Synagis shot to help prevent any major symptoms of Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). This shot burns when it is injected but the poor guy held up pretty good.
He weighed in at 7 pounds 10 ounces and was 19 3/4 inches long.
Yesterday, Akshay had a "photshoot" and we hope to have the pics soon.
Christmas was nice and we spent time with all of the family and Akshay got to meet her extended family.

No more sleeping on his own
Akshay has decided sleeping on his own was just for NICU. Now that he is home, he prefers and in fact in many cases will not sleep more than a few minutes without sleeping on one of our chests. He seems to like sleeping directly over the heart probably going back to his womb days.
The poor guy has been prescribed a dosage of iron and multi-vitamin mixed with milk. The usually yellowy tinted milk is turned into what most looks like algae, quite gross but he manages well.
I hope to get some new pictures up shortly.

He's a 5 pounder!!
Just got off the phone with the nurse, Akshay is now 5 pounds .2 ounces. Not a huge gain but still over the 5 pound mark.
As you can see in his photo he is thinking if he should drink from the breast or bottle. Each has its advantages but usually Mom wins out and he gets it from the source.
We thought he might have caught a cold but he is apparently like his daddy and has "natural" congestion.
He is still eating a ton and is still on track for Wednesday homecoming.

False Alarm - Not Coming Home Yet
We went to go pick-up Akshay this morning to find out that he has been held over for another 5-7 days. He had a Brady while sleeping, which means he has Apnea. This is normal in kiddos his age and is no cause for alarm but they insist on keeping him longer when it happens to make sure there isn't a larger problem.
This news along with some issues with staffing made today and not so pleasant day.
Didn't get any details on weight but he was doing well and ate a TON!!
